With the most advanced technology available at the time and surrounded by an immense green forest, Samuel Rohden’s legacy has far exceeded his vision of the day when the water-driven saw, he imported from Germany, was the center of attention in a village called Salete, Brazil. People of the generation could not imagine that Samuel’s small mill would grow into an industry, which was destined to have such profound positive effect on their lives and the future of the region.
Samuel Rohden began business in 1938 manufacturing furniture, church pews, cabinets, doors and windows. In 1954 his brother, Cornélio, joined him forming a partnership called the Rohden Group. They added a product new to Brazil, reels for electric cables, which was an immediate success and soon became the core of their business.

Today, the company is focused on producing a wide variety of Panelled, Glazed, and Specialty doors for interior and exterior use made out of Clear and Knotty Pine and Eucalyptus wood, along with MDF-faced white primed and fully finished products in addition to preservative-treated timber windows. Recently, glimpsing the potential of the domestic market, Rohden has added a specific product line in its product range called 'Kit Porta Pronta' - pre-hung door-sets.
As the president and Chief Executive Officer of the group, Lino Rohden is constantly searching for new technologies that will improve the quality of his company’s products as well as to improve the environmental quality control in place. Rohden strongly participates in the preservation of the environment in its community. In line with this policy, Rohden became the first wood processing company in Brazil to be awarded ISO 14001 certification back in 1999.
Also in 1999, a second door plant, Rohden Portas e Painéis Ltda, began production in Pouso Redondo, Brazil with an approximate production capacity of 90.000 doors monthly.
In 2001 the company’s environmental credentials were again recognized when the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) awarded Rohden the Smartwood-Certified Forestry chain of custody certificate in collaboration with IMAFLORA, a member of the Smartwood network.
We are proud to say that the success of this company is a result of the company’s shareholders, direction and employees that together, search for the same objective, 'to conquer the market while respecting the environment'.
